At the launch of the second edition of Ghana Meets Naija, one of the biggest musical concerts in Ghana, GhanaCelebrities.Com spotted Guru riding a new Ford Explorer 2011 Model with registration number Guru 1 – 12, which cost $30,000. We are told, the car was given to him by his management Empire Entertainment.

It’s like the dude doesn’t like Toyota after all.

Ama K warms her way into Sarkodie?s heart?

Does rapper Sarkodie have a soft spot for actress and TV producer, Ama K Abebrese? Last weekend, Sarkodie gave out his chain to the bubbly actress as a birthday gift, during the live taping of the Diva’s Show on TV3. Both were guests on the show which saw the rapper handing out his chain to Ama K during a commercial break.

Now, we all know how much these chains mean to rappers: we read of the beef between Ja Rule and 50 Cent over a chain that got snatched in a nightclub, and of course heard hiphop kingpin, Jay Z rap that he got the hottest woman in the music industry (Beyonce) rocking his chains. So could Sarkodie have some special feelings towards Ama K or was it just a friendly gesture?

Becca & Kiki Back In Love?

Ghana’s award winning sensational Afro-pop musician, Rebecca Acheampong, who goes by the stage name Becca is reported to have reignited her love relationship with her manager turned-lover, Kiki Banson of EKB Records.

Though the two had always denied being in a love relationship, News-One reported last month that the two had been in a deep love relationship for the past three years but the relationship hit the rocks because Becca was apparently dating one of her GIMPA mates, a handsome deep-pocketed married man who goes by the name Carl.

The ‘Carl’ factor nearly marred the Becca-Kiki love affair and their relationship got so strained that the celebrated musician, according to reports, was moving from EKB Records. She was said to have planned moving to either Black Capricon belonging to ace broadcaster Kofi Otchere Darko aka KOD, or Sparrows Productions, belonging to award-winning movie producer/director Shirley Frimpong Manso.

Freshest reports on Becca and Kiki say the two love-birds have somewhat settled their differences and reunited. They were spotted together in Kumasi during the birthday celebrations of the Asantehene and reports say they have again been seen together in several parts of Accra behaving like lovers. A source close to the two told News-One that Kiki recently ended his marriage to a Ghanaian based in the USA, adding that his relationship with Becca was one of the factors that left to the breakup of the marriage.

Another source close to the EKB studios at Tesano has also told News-One of a series of open quarrels between Kiki and Becca. The source stays in a story building that shares a wall with EKB Records and therefore sees what transpires on the compound.

Another interesting observation is that the black-coloured BMW X-5 believed to belong to Carl, that was often seen at Becca’s newly acquired luxuriously furnished three-bedroom house at East Legon in Accra, has never been spotted at the place since News-One broke the story last month.

Our reliable sources close to EKB Records said Kiki, after the story broke, bragged in the studios that he was dragging News-One to court. The paper has therefore decided to reserve its arsenals on the two as well as Carl and release them when the legal battle starts

Wizkid, Davido, Dbanj, R2bees and others at Soundcity launch party in Ghana

Nigerian based music and entertainment TV Channel, Soundcity has officially re-launched its services in Ghana with a party that brought together some of the hottest music acts from Nigeria and Ghana at the Excel Nitecub in Accra last Saturday. The event was attended by musicians and industry players from both Ghana and Nigeria including Wizkid, J Martins, Becca, Davido, Dbanj, R2bees, D-Black, Raquel, Tinny, Weird MC and several others.Soundcity was reintroduced in Ghana earlier in May 2012 via an exciting array of television entertainment programmes and events in partnership with Ghanaian TV stations – Ghana Television, GHOne Entertainment TV, and Viasat 1. Soundcity will air a variety of entertainment programmes which will run daily on its partner television stations. Of these programmes, 60% of the content will be locally-produced, 30% will be Nigerian, and 10% foreign to satisfy the varying taste of its viewers. Award winning Hip Life musician, Kwaw Kese aka Abodam has openly confessed he once engaged the services of a call girl to satisfy his sexual desires.

The ‘Odeim’ hit maker made this confession in an interview with Kwame B on Hitz FM Cruise Control's ‘Hang Out” segment.

Kwaw Kese said he engaged the services of a call girl which he bargained a “one night stand” which translates into a short period with the call girl.

He however noted that this happened before the breakthrough in his career.

According to Kwaw Kese, the lowest he has charged for a show was Gh¢50, somewhere in the early 2000’s where he only had one hit song. Even that, Kesse added that he had to enter the event venue through the back door as the bouncers could not recognize him.

Funny enough, after the said show, the organizers only gave him Gh¢25 leaving half of the amount outstanding till date.

One of the finest artists in Ghana, Kwaw Kese revealed that he used to work for the Electricity Company of Ghana as a metre reader where he normally took 'kick backs' from customers who do not want their metres to be disconnected over outstanding debts.
